I now run my own publishing and media services company: www.bluenna.co.uk and have been for the past three years. I am enjoying life as freelance, because it gives me freedom and being able to avoid the standard 9-to-5 life is useful with a horse in your life. Getting the balance of right is the stressful part.
The way Rainbow came into my life was very quick: I re-started riding at the end of 2011, after a 15-year dormant period! And soon the once-a-week lessons changed into loaning a horse. The lovely horse that I got involved with was Sampson.

I was quite happy to be a loaner and wasn't shopping for a horse... However, a fairly long time of Sampson being lame in the spring, I rode others on lessons. Then one lesson in June, another lady came into the school riding Rainbow. Something inside me moved from the moment I saw her. Perhaps it was love at first sight. Upon hearing that they were preparing Rainbow to be sold, as "she was too nice to be a riding school horse, and she'd be the ideal horse for e.g. a mother and daughter combo", my ears pricked. I asked my riding instructor then and there "how much?". She asked if I was planning on buying a horse, and I think I said no, but I think my actions that followed quickly told a different story (a surprise to myself also!)... I started to loan Rainbow from there on. I wanted to get to know her. After about a month of peaceful coexistence, nice hacks and lessons, my mind had been made. I wanted her.
I am now living out my childhood dream of having my own horse. It's not without its challenges, but it is also very rewarding and stress-busting most of the time.
